US-based Bel-Ray has received NSF-H1 approval for No-Tox Food Grade Dry PTFE Spray used in 'clean industry' applications.
The new multi-purpose, dry-film lubricant meets FDA requirements for incidental food contact and has been seen as compliant under the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) criteria established in California's Consumer Products Regulation by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the proposed VOC limits by the Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) for lubricants classified as a 'dry lubricant'.
Bel-Ray chief operating officer Jennifer Liquori said the new No-Tox Food Grade Dry PTFE Spray, besides reducing friction and wear in 'clean industry' machinery, will also help in decreasing the energy consumption of the equipment.
"We're pleased to add this product to our portfolio of food-grade lubricants," Liquori said.
According to the company, the Spray is designed for 'incidental contact' lubrication applications in food processing, food preparation, pharmaceutical processing, personal care processing and other industries requiring 'clean' applications.
